Kyle Wohlrab, MD (Co-Founder & Izzy’s Dad)

Kyle is Izzy’s Daddy and co-founder of The Izzy Foundation. He works as a urogynecologist in Providence, Rhode Island. Kyle was raised in an Air Force family and enjoyed moving all over the country. Although he learned a lot about life from his travels, it doesn’t compare to the lessons Izzy taught him. Kyle’s mission is to continue Izzy’s legacy to live, laugh, love and play.

 

 

 


Katina Robison, MD (Co-Founder & Izzy’s Mom)

Tina Robison is Izzy’s mom and Co-Founder of The Izzy Foundation. She works as a Gynecologic Oncologist in Providence, Rhode Island. Tina was born and raised in Northern California and moved east for her medical training. She enjoys spending time with her family (kids Garrett, Hadley, Izzy and Fletch). She works hard to make the foundation continue to inspire others to make a difference, the way Izzy always did. Her background as a cancer doctor and as Izzy’s mom brings a unique perspective to the foundation.


 

 

 

 

 


Jeannine Connolly, MD (Co-Founder & President)

Jeannine came to Rhode Island for her Ob-Gyn residency training, where she met Kyle and Tina. She later had the great honor and privilege of delivering Izzy; welcoming that amazing little girl into the world! Jeannine initially helped form the Izzy Foundation in an effort to defray medical costs for Izzy’s treatment. After Izzy earned her angel wings Kyle and Tina immediately IZ-spired us to help other families with children fighting cancer.Jeannine works as an OB-Gyn in Rhode Island. But her most important job is to be the Mom to her three boys- Jacob, Andrew and Quinn and wife to her husband Mike.

 

 

 


Ashley Stuckey, MD (Co-Founder & Vice President)

Izzy’s love of Cheetos originated with “Auntie Stuckey” who is a co-founder and the Vice President of The Izzy Foundation. Ashley, along with Jeannine Connolly and Izzy’s parents, created The Izzy Foundation which started as a small fundraising birthday party in the park to help defray costs of her stem cell transplant in Germany. The Izzy Foundation has since grown to national and international notoriety. Ashley hails from New Orleans and is a gynecologic oncologist and breast surgeon at Women and Infants/Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

 

 

 

 

 


John Czerwein, MD

John is a native Rhode Islander who resides in RI with his two wonderful daughters Peyton and Remington; as well as his loving wife, Melissa. John attended Providence College as an undergrad where he received his Bachelor of Science. He then attended medical school at The Chicago Medical School followed by an Orthopaedic residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein University in New York. He completed his training with an Orthopaedic Spine fellowship at University Orthopedics in RI. He is now a partner at The Center for Orthopaedics in Johnston, RI.John became friends with Kurt and Kyle Wohlrab while in medical School and has since reconnected with Kyle once back in Rhode Island.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Karin Fuchs, MD

Karin – aka “Auntie KK” – is Izzy’s Godmother. Her greatest joy came in trying to make Izzy’s every wish come true! She met Tina during her Residency at Brown University Medical School/Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, but met Kyle years before in medical school in Chicago and – as such – takes credit for introducing Kyle and Tina. After residency, Karin moved to NYC to pursue a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Columbia University. Despite still living and working in Manhattan, KK knows she left a piece of her heart in Providence and makes almost monthly trips back to visit the Wohlrabs, spend time with her parents, and attend Izzy Foundation events.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Lisa Ware

Lisa’s main focus of the foundation is community outreach and fundraising events. Lisa and the dedication of many supporters and volunteers have put together several successful events; introducing the Izzy Foundation to the community. The fundraising events allow the foundation to grow and meet current and future goals; and to continue Izzy’s legacy to live, laugh, love and play. Lisa is the proud mother of daughters Joelle and Koren; she also shares her life with partner Louie. Lisa is a Surgical Technologist at Woman and Infants Hospital; she will complete her Bachelors Degree at Roger Williams University in Health Care Administration this fall. Lisa, met Kyle and Tina during their first year residency at Women and Infants Hospital, over the years she watch them become Physicians’, Partners’ and Parents. Lisa has always admired their relationship from the beginning including their passion for one another and their family. She has had the honor to have been part of the most beautiful parts of their life (Birth of Isabelle). Next was Izzy’s journey, we were all grateful to be part of it through Izzy’s blog, thanks to her amazing parents. Izzy has taught Lisa and her family a great deal about life and unconditional love. Izzy touched and inspired so many lives, Lisa was very fortunate to be one of the lucky ones. She lives in a Purple world and is IZspired daily by Izzy.

 

 

 


Jennifer Wheeler

Jennifer is first and foremost a mother to three amazing children, Emma, Benjamin and Nathaniel, and wife to husband Joshua. She attended the University of Rhode Island and obtained a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and currently works as a Pharmacist.In October of 2009 Jennifer’s daughter, Emma, was first diagnosed with cancer and was treated locally at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI. “We met Kyle, Tina and Izzy soon after Emma’s diagnosis. Emma bonded with Izzy right from the start!” explains Jennifer.Less than a year after Emma had completed her treatments the Wheeler family learned that her cancer had returned. At this time they had to travel out of state to treat her relapse.”I have witnessed, first hand, the challenges that families face while caring for a sick child. It is completely devastating.” says Jennifer. The Izzy Foundation’s mission to support families with children fighting cancer and other debilitating diseases hits close to home.
